It’s a great little place to stretch your legs and there’s some giant boulders that are leftover from a Mt Konocti eruption. I’ve seen some climbers bouldering on them. It’s shaded by some Douglas Fir trees that are able to grow only because the north side of the mountain is a little shaded from the summer heat. It’s a very small place with about three parking spots on the side of Soda Bay Rd. You can also park across the road.
This is a place that was about to be turned into luxury homes but is now preserved thanks to the efforts of local concerned citizens. No services, no fees, no rules and no trails. Wild!

The rattle snakes being there and the lack of signs talking about it sucks but cool little hike

This place is dark all day long. Very eire feeling. But exactly as it was 10,000 years ago. That’s why I love this area
