Do not come here horrible customer service and room service rooms haven’t been refreshed in 2 days. We had to go to the office to get clean towels, coffee and toilet paper. We inquired about renting a boat and the office lady said “Your more than welcome to go find the maintenance guy” like that is our responsibility. My family rents 2 cottages here every year and this will be the last. (Update the maintenance guy should be the manager was much more helpful than the other staff)
Welcoming was great. But lacked details about the boats not being available on weekends and no pool maintenance on weekends beach area had dead fish and garbage along with a syringe and the manger just though in the dumpster which is not California law. Room service was horrible notified front desk we needed towels and toilet and had to hunt the staff down and recieved no room refresh after asking
Had to scoop the pool ourselves. Sunday ,monday and Tuesday the manager was no where to be found. Toilet was clogged and recieved a plunger and a bucket. Are deck area in both our cottages was not cleaned off for our arrival and was full of spider webs and lots of debris
The lake is great for fishing but not for swimming. This new management is definitely lacking in creating a full service resort. But I will add the maintenance guy Gio was the only person on staff that was concerned about cleanliness and hospitality and was visible doing his job. Office personal just made excuses for being under staffed and not being able to provide certain requests in a timely manner. So disappointed. We had a big family group and so did need some extras. Cabins themselves are well kept.
I wish I could give it zero stars, but I’ll give it one star! Back in 2017, me and my mom stayed here. We did not have a good time because it was run down, the room smelled like dog urine, the front desk lady, Erin was VERY rude, and it didn’t have good air conditioning when it was 110 degrees outside. I don’t even like the city of Clearlake, CA because it was so hot there, every window in town was broken, there was graffiti EVERYWHERE, and there were hoodlums standing around every corner! Also, the lake was filthy and polluted, like all they ever do in Clearlake is throw trash in the lake! The only good thing was the pool. The pool was nice. Clearlake Cottages & Marina must be shut down!!!
So we are a family with 2 small kids, who embarked on a mission of at least 1 lake a year road-trip vacation. When I initially booked the cabin, the lake was basically off-limits due to algae (which defeated the whole purpose of littles just wanting to swim) so when I canceled I was only able to get about 50% of my refund in from of a gift certificate. Finally used it, and when we showed up, the room seemed clean. Cabins are much closer together than shown in booking photos. But actual lake access was this tiny sliver of a “beach” that was not very clean. It was clear this was a boat place more than “family comes for a swim”. Second night, I got up to use the bathroom, I saw a big roach scurrying across the main room. Room service never checked in, had to have my husband ask them to at least empty the garbage and vacuum. When we returned to the room, they only took the bag of garbage I had next to their provided garbage bin, which was not emptied. No bed turndown or anything either. With all this considered plus what they charge for these cabins, we will probably not be returning to this place.
Nice rooms, locations is right on the water which is AMAZING!! My only concern is that since we brought our boat it was difficult in getting the boat and trailer down the ramp as it is very narrow. Also, I do LOVE that there are electrical outlets at the boat slips to charge your batteries but they all don’t work and you have to bounce from slip to slip. Overall it was a GREAT experience for my wife and I, we’ll definitely be back maybe in the next couple of months!
