Some staff really goes the extra mile to help you out.
The whole WalMart Auto Care system is not really easy to use as a customer… it seems like the website and store are never in sync, or there is always some issue. But at this particular store, the staff stayed extra late and made sure we got what we needed.
I blame the Walmart website for a lot of the weirdness that happens. It’s like when things are going good, Walmart corporate and the individual stores operate like a single unified entity. But if anything goes sideways, it’s almost like neither are every related to each other at all – corporate blames the store, the store blames corporate.
In any case we are very thankful to the young fellow who helped us get back on the road safely.
This was my first and last time using Walmart Auto Care. I had an appointment for an oil change and drove straight to the auto shop area. An employee asked if I had an appointment, I said yes, and they told me to park to the side and wait since there was one car ahead of me. I waited over 30 minutes where I was directed, assuming I was in line. Eventually, someone came out and asked if I had checked in inside. I wasn’t aware that was required, but I went in right away. At that point, I was told I was “over 30 minutes late” and they couldn’t help me. What was most frustrating was the lack of clear instructions and the response I received when I tried to explain—I was rudely told, “I don’t know why you would just sit there,”. At that point there were 4 employees there all blaming me for the situation. I understand policies are in place, but better communication upfront would have avoided the situation entirely. Hopefully this helps others know to check in inside first, but overall I’d recommend going somewhere with clearer processes and better customer service.
Was told I had a 3 hour wait for tires as it was first come first served. Waited 3 hours and was then told my car would be next as long as no oil changes came in. Oil changes take priority. To add to the experience, I had my 2 and 3 year old nieces I had to keep entertained for going on 4 hours now. Never again, walmart clearlake auto center is awful. Not worth the money saved

Even with an appointment they tend to not start your oil change until an hour after drop off.

People there are very rude. I have had multiple instances where the staff gave attitude or just up and left. The work is fine, though.
