The lake is very green and you definitely need water shoes as there is rocks at the bottom of this lake.

Summer weather is around 90s this 2026 year. Green swimmable water but safe. Wish it was “Clear” but we tested ourselves. Lots of birds and mosquitoes bites by sunset. Be prepared. Clean bathrooms.

We camped there for 2 nights.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for the clean environment and the presence of rangers.

⭐️ -1 for not enforcing quiet hours. People woke up at 5 a.m. and started blasting music and making all kinds of noise, including screaming, laughing, and talking loudly.

⭐️ -1 for not limiting how long people can run gas generators. They’re noisy and the exhaust smell is unpleasant.

⭐️ -1 for the smelly restrooms. Come on, open the windows or improve the ventilation. They smelled terrible.

⭐️ -1 for not enforcing the “No Dogs Allowed on the Beach” rule. People brought their dogs onto the beach to swim around kids and families.

⭐️ +1 for having restrooms and showers.

Know before you go, check water quality and safety for swimming. This lake is known to have mercury poisoning and the beaches often close. It’s highly dangerous
